Brookview Golf & Lawn Bowling
Brookview Golf & Lawn Bowling is THE place to go for outdoor fun. During warmer months, Broovkview is home to the largest lawn bowling green in the state, serving up 8 rinks of fun. They are also known for their 18-hole regulation golf course, a par-3 course and a driving range. In winter, take advantage of their two 18-hole disc golf courses and 4 pub curling rinks. There’s an onsite restaurant, the Three One Six Bar + Grill, and a large outdoor firepit. It’s the perfect spot for an outing with your family and friends or even your coworkers.
Copperwing & Dampfwerk Distilleries
We’re home to two working distilleries, conveniently located opposite one another, in an area known as Skunk Hollow, aka our “Distillery District.” Copperwing Distillery is a grain-to-glass micro distillery known for their gin, vodka, bourbon, fresas (a strawberry gin), and their signature vodskey – a bourbon mash distilled like vodka. The Dampfwerk Distillery is a family-run distillery making classical German-style spirits, including brandies, gins, aquavits and herbal liqueurs. Both cocktail rooms serve innovative craft cocktails (and mocktails) that will definitely leave you in good spirits.
Fired Up Studios
Have a “clay date” with your family and friends at Fired Up Studios! In this 2-hour class, you’ll get to take a pottery wheel for a spin and get your hands dirty while Fired Up’s instructors help you make your own unique pot. They provide all the tools, buckets and towels you need for the class, and they’ll finish and fire your pot with the glaze of your choice. Perfect for couples, friends, or small groups of up to 8 (18+ only please.) Clay Dates are super popular, so be sure to book early!
Game Show Battle Rooms
Game Show Battle Rooms is one of the nation’s first game show experiences that everyone can enjoy. You’ll face-off against your family and friends in one of their custom arenas as you play your favorite TV game shows – all facilitated by your own personal game show host! Choose between two different experiences: Classic Showdowns or Primetime Showdowns and play games like Survey Battles (aka Family Feud™) and Spin and Solve (aka Wheel of Fortune™). This is a perfect activity for groups of 6 or more.
Park Tavern Bowling & Entertainment Center
Stop by the Park Tavern, a retro-cool restaurant, bar and bowling alley that’s been a popular local hangout for over 60 years. You’ll find over 20 lanes of bowling, an arcade, billiards and darts, along with fabulous dining, big screen TVs for watching the game and a full-service bar. Join them on Friday and Saturday nights for cosmic bowling for ages 21+ from 9 pm until close. During the week, test your knowledge of little-known facts with weekly trivia nights on Mondays and Wednesdays or get lucky playing bingo on Tuesdays. When the weather is warm, relax on their spacious patio, play corn hole or bocce ball, and enjoy live music every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Pavek Museum
Take a walk on the retro side at the Pavek Museum and explore one of the world’s largest and most significant collections of vintage radio and television equipment. Display highlights include an AEG Magnetophon, an RCA Theremin, a Spark Gap Generator and a Philco Mystery Control Radio. They even have a collection of vintage game consoles.
Punch Bowl Social
For serious foodertainment and real-world funning, you’ll want to head to Punch Bowl Social. They’re known for their legendary punches, craft beverages (with or without booze), scratch kitchen food that’s fit for foodies and endless gaming options. Bring the gang and try your hand at bowling, ping pong, billiards and bocce ball. Other classic games include Giant Scrabble and Giant Jenga, bonzini and foosball. Would-be singing sensations will love their karaoke room. They even have a vintage arcade full of your favorite games. Bonus: Punch Bowl Social is open until midnight on weekdays and 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Schullers Tavern
Every Saturday night from October through April, Schullers Tavern plays host to the some of the best local bands in town. Known as the “Last Real Roadhouse,” this family-owned local hangout serves up salads, sandwiches, pizzas and their award-winning black angus tavern burgers. They’re also home to Minnesota’s smallest liquor store! Bands typically go on around 8 pm and play until midnight.
Skylab Glass Arts
Skylab is a hip new lampworking and glass arts facility in Golden Valley. What is lampworking? It’s a method of glassblowing using a fix mounted torch to melt and manipulate glass into a desired form. Sign up for one of their “no experience necessary” beginning classes. You’ll don a pair of safety glasses, step up to a torch and learn to shape colored glass into beautiful pendants, wine stoppers, drinking straws, and more. Class participants get to keep their creations, so you’ll come home with a beautiful handmade souvenir. Perfect for small groups of up to 8. Recommended for ages 10+.
Warehouse Winery
Warehouse Winery is a working winery and eclectic event space. They combine Marquette cold climate grapes with some of the best Northern California grapes to produce cabernet sauvignon, frontenac, syrah, merlot, zinfandel and a wide variety of red blends, as well as a few whites. Join them on the last Wednesday of every month for Wine Down Wednesday! Enjoy tastings of up to 5 wines, plus a glass of your favorite, light appetizers and live entertainment.
