With its cozy snugs and gleaming wooden pub tables, The Local West End is your go-to place for traditional Irish fare, watching the game and throwing back a pint or two. Flags, scarves and jerseys abound during broadcasts of soccer and rugby matches. Toast a victory with a perfectly poured Guinness or a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey. The space features a hand-carved back bar and short snugs with tall ceilings and cut class reflecting the lighting of another era. In summer, grab a Guinness and relax on the patio.
Start your meal with some notoriously addictive whiskey-honey glazed chicken shots or bacon tots. For lunch, order off the Wee Lunch menu and enjoy pint-sized versions of their most popular dishes served with fries and a wee green salad – perfect for a workday meal and only $10. For dinner, you can’t go wrong with the classics: Shepherd’s pie, corned beef & cabbage or fish & chips. They also make a highly satisfying pub curry and their chicken sandwich, loaded with bacon and pepper jack cheese, also comes topped with their delicious whiskey-honey glaze. Be sure to save room for dessert. Feeney’s Irish Cream Cheesecake is a favorite, as is their banana bread pudding topped with caramel sauce.
The Local offers two private spaces for hosting your next happy hour, corporate event, birthday party, or a simple gathering of friends. The larger Cooper Room, with wood paneling and decorative tin ceiling, offers seating for 40. A smaller room, tucked behind the bar, has space for 15.
