Car Rentals

The following car rental companies offer on-airport service at MSP Airport: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless, Sixt and Thrifty. ACE Rent A Car and TURO operates off-airport. All on-airport rental car companies have counters at both terminals and rental cars may be returned to either terminal.

App-Based Ride Services

If you are at Terminal 1 and plan to use Uber, Lyft or a similar app-based ride service, your ride will pick you up in the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of the Green/Gold Parking Ramps. Simply follow the signs.

At Terminal 2, pick up is available from the Ground Transport Center on the ground level of the Purple parking ramp.

Public Transit

The Minneapolis – St. Paul area has an easy-to-use public transit system. To reach St. Louis Park and Golden Valley, you will first want to use the light rail transit (LRT) train system, then transfer to our bus system.

The Terminal 1 LRT station is located below the Red, Blue and Silver parking ramps. From the Tram Level (one level below bag claim), take the tram to the Red, Blue and Silver parking ramps, When you exit the tram, follow the signs to the light rail station.

The Terminal 2 station is located on the north side of the Orange Ramp. From Level 1, near Ticketing, take the elevator or escalator up to the Orange Ramp skyway. Follow the signs to the station. You will then need to go down one level to the station platform.

The full route of the METRO Blue line runs every 15-20 minutes, from approximately 5 a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week. Some stations have earlier southbound pickups, starting at 3:30 a.m. Travel between terminals is available 24 hours a day. The stations are fully accessible.

Take the Blue Line heading to Mpls-Target Field. Once in Minneapolis, you will transfer to a Metro Transit bus (or buses) to reach your desired destination. To plan your exact route, visit www.metrotransit.org. They have a handy trip planner right on their home page.

Sample Trip: MSP Airport Terminal 1 to The Shops at West End in St. Louis Park: Take the Blue Line to Franklin Ave Station. Take the elevator/stairs at the front of the train down to street level. Then take Route 9C (Bryn Mawr/West End/Louisiana TC) and arrive at 16^th St. W & Duke Dr., stop #56565. Cost: $2 regular fare, $1 reduced fair.

Starting in 2027, visitors will be able to take the LRT system all the way into St. Louis Park and to points further west.
