Theodore Wirth Regional Park

Theodore Wirth is the perfect spot for nature lovers. The park features over 740 acres of woodlands, with miles of trails, a lake, a bog, two golf courses and a beach. It’s the perfect backdrop for photos in any season. Throughout the park you’ll find picturesque bridges and skyline views of downtown Minneapolis. The Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden is also located here, but posed pictures are not allowed in the garden. Don’t worry though – wildflowers bloom throughout the park!

Westwood Hills Nature Center

With 3 miles of trails that wind through marsh, prairie and woodlands, Westwood Hills Nature Center is an ideal place for wedding photos. Bridal parties will particularly like the Waterfall Observation Deck and Outdoor Water Garden, which can be rented separately or together for an exclusive wedding photo shoot.

From the accessible Observation Deck, you can see the full view of the waterfall, water garden, Westwood Lake and surrounding woods. Watch the water flow over the top of the 6-foot-high waterfall and tumble down the hillside! Or explore the Outdoor Water Garden as you stroll along the accessible crushed rock paths, across bridges and gaze into the pond to see the fish. There are rock bench areas for taking photos and for relaxing and enjoying the view.

Wolfe Park

Wolfe Park is a large neighborhood park located in the Excelsior & Grand area of St. Louis Park. The park features both large open green spaces and wooded trails. The western half of the park is home to picturesque Wolfe Lake, while Bridge Pond runs through the center of the park. The bridge that crosses Wolfe Park makes a lovely spot for pictures, as does the vine covered pergola near the playground. Another popular spot is Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater. The terraced hillside, with sweeping views of the park, makes a creative backdrop for capturing your bridal party.

Historic Walker Lake District

For some non-traditional photo fun, head to the Historic Walker Lake District. Stop by the mural spot on the Sota Clothing building. Show your love for one another beneath the “You Betcha We Love It Here” mural. Or take a truly Minnesotan photo with Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Just down the street you’ll find The Block and their “Love from SLP” mural. It’s the perfect backdrop for the bride and groom to send their love to family and friends. Use the photo on a holiday card or snap an engagement photo here and use it for a save the date!
